- For our 40th anniversary show, Jay Miller’s Circus is proud to uphold its tradition of touring with a dynamic live performance featuring artistes from across the globe.
- The 2026 show blends elements of the history of Jay Miller’s and traditional circus heritage, with modern choreography, memorable music and mesmerising circus skills and stunts.
- The show opens with a childhood memory. When young Jon Miller travelled on the bus to see the circus, he was so inspired by the Big Top that he vowed to start his own circus one day.Our 2026 show pays homage to his journey, starting with the Aerial Cloudswing, which was the opening act in the very first show presented by Jay Miller’s Circus, at Broughton, Hampshire, in March 1987.Life in the circus doesn’t always run smoothly, and Clown Peppi’s comical Brand-New Troupe reflects a moment in 1989 when a member of the Moroccan troupe left overnight; while the Spinning Cube act pays tribute to the influx of talented artistes from the Moscow State Circus in 1991.The diablo holds a special place in Jon’s heart because he was given one for Christmas as a child. For 2026, we welcome Alex to wow the crowds with his diablo.Our circus started with a smaller tent, but growing crowds during the 1990s meant a larger Big Top was required, so our journey included a visit to the magical Miller’s Wishing Well.The Miller family also grew during the 1990s, and you can see Paige Miller, the youngest of Jon and Liz Miller’s daughters, performing her aerial act in today’s show.Being part of the circus requires every performer to wear many hats, because there are dozens of tasks which need doing. Our Rola Bola act is a comical reflection of the flexibility and good-naturedness required to work in our circus.Our second half opens with a jailhouse scene, to reflect a moment in 1992, when one of our French performers was arrested for a minor driving incident – fortunately he was released just in time for the show!Roller-skating has a special significance because the eldest Miller sister, Charlotte, developed a dynamic roller-skating act with fellow performer Florian, who later became her husband. Our 2026 roller-skaters, Gina and Lester, have created an equally energetic routine for you to enjoy.
- Clown Peppi’s somersaulting prowess is just one of his many talents – he has been with Jay Miller’s Circus for 30 years, and as well as countless comic capers, he works hard behind the scenes.Hair-raising acts are common at Jay Miller’s and seeing is believing when you watch Miss Mica Aire, who will be flying around the Big Top secured only by her hair.No circus show is complete without a lively juggling act and Trio Yeeha from Ethiopia do this in style, while our youngest performer is 19-year-old Beau Wheeler, who grew up watching Jay Miller’s Circus and is now performing her enchanting aerial act in our Big Top.Clown Peppi takes centre stage for more slapstick fun with his camera – check your 2026 show programmes for photos from the past four decades of Jay Miller’s shows and see how many circus people you can recognise.Our journey leaps into the present with a thrilling teeterboard routine from Rodrigo, Alex and Anjo, and then it’s time for our traditional all-action finale, complete with a soundtrack by ABBA.We hope you have seen the wonder in our fairytale of a show.
